Job summary

Ashmeole Academy in North London is seeking a Deputy SENDCo on a fixed-term maternity cover to lead SEND provision and support students with SEND.

You will work with the Inclusion Team, ensure APDR processes, attend meetings with parents, and develop Intervention registers while maintaining high standards of inclusion.

The role requires QTS and NASENCO, secondary experience, and strong communication; the school values equality and achievement.

Qualifications

• QTS and NASENCO qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with SEND students, preferably in secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Commitment to inclusion and raising aspirations.

Responsibilities

• Support SENDCo in leading SEND provision across the school.
• Create and review SEND Support plans and attend meetings with parents.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure inclusive teaching.
• Liaise with external agencies to secure outcomes for students.
• Contribute to Annual Reviews and EHCP processes.
• Support staff training relating to SEND and inclusion.
