Job summary

Watling Academy is seeking a dedicated Deputy SENDCo to support the SENDCo with the day-to-day running of our SEND provision. You'll ensure students with SEND are supported, included, and do well academically and personally.

This role would suit someone who is patient, well organised, and can stay calm when things get busy. Working closely with the SENDCo, you'll organise Teaching Assistant timetables, line manage a small TA team, write and review Academic Profiles, identify students needing

Qualifications

• Experience of working with students with SEND is essential.
• Strong organisation and timetabling abilities.
• Ability to stay calm and patient in busy environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the SENDCo in the day-to-day running of the SEND provision.
• Organise Teaching Assistant timetables and line manage Teaching Assistants.
• Write and review Academic Profiles and identify students needing extra support.
• Plan, deliver and monitor interventions for students.
• Support statutory work on EHC Plans, including Annual Reviews and EHC Needs Assessments.
• Ensure Access Arrangements are in place and JCQ records are kept up to date (reading/scribing in exams).
• Help students move up from feeder primary schools.
