Job summary

Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy is seeking a proactive Deputy SENCo to join our SEND team and build an inclusive provision that helps every pupil thrive.

You'll support the SENCo in leading SEND strategies, coordinating resources, and ensuring high standards of progress for students with diverse needs across the academy. As part of Leigh Academies Trust, we offer NPQ courses and professional development within an IB World School framework and Healthy Minds initiatives.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with pupils, parents and staff.
• Good understanding of SEND legislation and safeguarding requirements.
• Organised, proactive and capable of deputising for the SENCo when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the SENCo in leading SEND provision and strategy.
• Coordinate resources and monitoring to ensure high progress for SEND students.
• Deputise for the SENCo in non-statutory matters and day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external partners to promote inclusion.
