Deputy SENCO

Location: Lambeth, South London

Start Date: January 2025

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract

Reeson Education are supporting a large mainstream secondary school in Lambeth, South London, who require a Deputy SENCO to join their team from January 2025.

Staff work hard to ensure all students achieve their full potential, regardless of their starting point. The Deputy SENCo will join the SEN team in this non-teaching position and will work alongside the SENCo, helping to line manage and support the team of Learning Support Assistants.

The Role

The school requires a Deputy SENCO to join a busy and fun environment where every day offers something different. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and listening skills with a commitment to helping staff and students achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Be an enthusiastic individual who can help lead the SEND provision across the school
  2. Have high expectations of children's attainment, progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
  3. Have high expectations of their own achievement and development, both professionally and personally
  4. Have excellent organizational skills and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation
  5. Have experience of implementing strategies to successfully support students
  6. Be able to model good practice, deliver training, and recommend specific programmes of intervention for students
  7. Be a team player who is creative, energetic, and who will provide enriching and inspiring learning opportunities for our young people
  8. Make a positive contribution to all aspects of school life
  9. Work and communicate positively with all staff, students, parents, and external agencies
