Job summary

UCM Education is seeking a confident Deputy Room Leader for a busy early years setting in Lewisham, London. The role is full-time and permanent, supporting the Room Leader to deliver high-quality childcare and education.

You will support learning in line with EYFS, create a nurturing environment, plan activities, and act as Key Person. Strong communication with staff and parents is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years.
• Experience supporting the day-to-day running of a nursery room.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, Ofsted requirements and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning and development of young children in line with EYFS.
• Create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment.
• Plan and support age-appropriate activities.
• Act as a Key Person and support children’s wellbeing.
• Support day-to-day running of the room including staff supervision.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents.
• Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and health and safety.

Job description

We are looking for a confident and motivated Deputy Room Leader to join a welcoming early years setting in Lewisham.

This is a full-time, permanent role within a supportive nursery environment, working closely with the Room Leader to support the day-to-day running of the room and the delivery of high-quality childcare and education.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years and have experience supporting the day-to-day running of a nursery room. A strong understanding of the EYFS framework, Ofsted requirements, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and parents is essential.
