Job summary

UCM Education is seeking an experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner / Deputy Room Lead for a private nursery in Deptford, Greenwich. You will assist the Room Leader, lead the team in their absence and deliver engaging EYFS activities within a four-day working pattern.

The role requires a Level 3 EYFS qualification and solid nursery experience, with strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent communication and teamwork skills to support colleagues and families.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification and nursery experience required.
• Strong EYFS, safeguarding and child development knowledge.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Room Leader with daily running of the room.
• Act as deputy in Room Leader's absence.
• Lead, support and motivate the wider Early Years team.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate EYFS activities.
• Support children's learning and wellbeing.
• Build relationships with children and families as key person.
• Complete observations and record learning progress.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety.
• Contribute to a positive nursery environment.
• Support development of the setting.
