Job summary

UCM Education is seeking an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager in Harrow to support the day-to-day running of a welcoming nursery. The role offers leadership over the Early Years team and close collaboration with the Nursery Manager to maintain high standards of care.

The right candidate will have a Level 3 EYFS qualification or equivalent, strong EYFS knowledge, safeguarding experience and excellent communication and organisational skills to lead a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with day-to-day running and management of the nursery.

• Delegate responsibilities and help ensure smooth operation of the setting.
• Support planning and delivery of high-quality Early Years provision in line with EYFS.
• Monitor children's learning, development and wellbeing.
• Support staff development, teamwork and high standards of professional practice.
• Maintain safeguarding, health and safety and compliance standards.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Assist with nursery administration, policies and procedures.
• Support the Nursery Manager with development and improvement of the setting.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to join a welcoming nursery in Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional with strong management or leadership experience who is ready to take on a senior role and support the effective running of the nursery.

This is a full-time position offering a salary of up to £35,000, with the opportunity to work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team to maintain high standards of care, education and Early Years practice.

You will be:

• Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running and management of the nursery
• Providing effective leadership, guidance and support to the Early Years team
• Delegating responsibilities and helping to ensure the smooth operation of the setting
• Supporting the planning and delivery of high-quality Early Years provision in line with the EYFS
• Monitoring children's learning, development and wellbeing
• Supporting staff development, teamwork and high standards of professional practice
• Maintaining strong safeguarding, health and safety and compliance standards
• Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
• Assisting with nursery administration, policies and procedures
• Supporting the Nursery Manager with the continued development and improvement of the setting

The successful candidate will be an experienced Early Years professional with previous management, supervisory or leadership experience within a nursery setting. A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent is desirable, alongside a strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development. Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills are essential.
