Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking up to four Deputy Project Directors to deliver HVDC converter infrastructure across Lewis, Fanellin, or Netherton HUBs. Based in Scottish locations, you will spend about half your time on site with the project teams and partners, driving safety, governance and delivery under the ASTI framework.

The role reports to a Project Director and requires extensive experience in large-scale capital projects, NEC3 contract management, and strong stakeholder engagement across

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering large capital projects in electricity, transmission, or major infrastructure.
• Proven experience negotiating and executing NEC3 contracts in a multi-contract setting.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, governance, and reporting for large programmes.
• Relevant engineering, construction, project management or commercial qualification or accreditation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels; Ofgem experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a £350m+ HVDC Converter Building Package under an ASTI framework.
• Support HVDC portfolio acceleration and Ofgem regulatory submissions.
• Lead safety, environment and quality performance alongside Transmission Management.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supply chain partners.
• Manage Project and Construction Managers across schedule, contracts, risk and governance.
• Assist Project Director with HUB site delivery and resource development.
