Job summary

SSE is seeking up to four Deputy Project Directors to join the Transmission Delivery Team in Scotland, delivering HVDC Converter Building packages at Lewis, Fanellan or Netherton HUB sites. The role supports the Pathway to 2030 programme and requires travel to project sites and related locations.

You will report to a Project Director, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and drive safety, governance and delivery standards across the portfolio while aligning with Ofgem regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in project delivery, ideally within electricity generation, transmission or another major infrastructure environment.
• Experience with NEC3 contracts within a multi-contract delivery environment; contracts valued over £100m advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of project management systems, governance and project controls for large capital projects.
• Relevant engineering, construction, project management or commercial qualification, accreditation or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels; Ofgem or regulatory body experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a £350m+ HVDC Converter Building Package via multi-stage call-off contracts under NEC3 ASTI framework.
• Support HVDC portfolio acceleration and Ofgem regulatory submissions as delegated by the Project Director.
• Collaborate with Transmission Management to uphold safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable successful delivery and wider business objectives.
• Lead a team of Project and Construction Managers across schedule, contracts, commercial management, risk and governance.
• Assist the Project Director in HUB site delivery, refining project structures and Ofgem submissions.
