Job summary

CMD Recruitment is seeking a Deputy Production Manager for an established manufacturing site in Devizes, Wiltshire. The role focuses on leading production teams, driving improvements, and ensuring targets are met in a busy plant environment.

You will oversee labour planning, coordinate with Planning, Quality and Maintenance, and develop training and succession plans to raise capability across the shift teams. A strong leadership track record in manufacturing is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in manufacturing or production.
• Experience in production management or supervision.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and performance management.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, ERP systems and automotive quality standards.
• Manufacturing qualifications are desirable but not essential with proven leadership ability.

• Promote continuous improvement, Health & Safety and 5S standards.
• Deputise for the Production Manager when required.

Location: Devizes, Wiltshire; Salary: £50,000-£60,000 plus bonuses; Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm; Friday, 8:00am-1:00pm; Contract: Permanent, Full Time.

About You

• You will have experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment, with the ability to manage priorities, solve problems and motivate people.
• Experience in production management, supervision or team leadership would be relevant.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement, performance management and employee development would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, ERP systems and automotive quality standards would also be an advantage.
• Relevant manufacturing qualifications are desirable but are not essential where you can demonstrate suitable experience and leadership ability.
