Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is recruiting a Production Supervisor for a well-established manufacturing business in Dartford. You will lead a fast-paced production team, drive on-time customer deliveries and uphold safety, quality and continuous improvement.

You will plan shop floor activities, monitor KPIs, coach staff and ensure adherence to SOPs and engineering drawings. The role offers the chance to develop a skilled team within a stable, growing operation.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience leading a team of 10+ people.
• Manufacturing experience across production environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Good organisational and planning ability.
• Experience working to production schedules and KPIs.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• The ability to motivate, coach and develop production teams.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Teams and email.
• A flexible approach with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support a production team to achieve daily production targets.
• Plan and organise shop floor production to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Allocate workloads and manage workflow across the department.
• Ensure production is carried out safely while maintaining high quality standards.
• Promote and maintain 5S and safe working practices throughout the production area.
• Monitor productivity and performance against company KPIs.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
• Ensure production staff are working to the latest SOPs, engineering drawings, ECNs, CCNs and Quality Alerts.
• Train, mentor and develop team members to improve flexibility across the production department.
• Manage holidays, overtime, attendance and timekeeping.
• Support the onboarding and training of new employees.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores and Production Control teams to ensure production objectives are achieved.
• Liaise with the Production Manager regarding staffing, production issues and operational improvements.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Carry out any other duties required to support the manufacturing operation.
