Premier Work Support is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and develop production teams within a busy manufacturing environment. You will drive Lean initiatives, optimise processes, reduce waste and ensure delivery targets are met.

You will manage production planning, scheduling and resource allocation, while maintaining health & safety and quality standards. The role is based in the Rochester area with a 35-hour week and flexible core hours 06:30–16:00, Monday–Friday.

Formación

• Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar manufacturing leadership role.
• Experience managing teams, production planning and KPIs.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
• 5+ years in a senior manufacturing leadership role; lean manufacturing experience essential.
• Desirable: engineering/industrial manufacturing experience, a management or Lean qualification, Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH), and experience using ERP or production management systems.

A rare opportunity has arisen with one of our prestigious manufacturing clients for an experienced permanent Production Manager to lead and develop their production teams, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

The Role

You will drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles, optimise production processes, reduce waste and inventory costs, and ensure production, quality and delivery targets are consistently achieved. You will lead by example, develop a multi-skilled workforce and promote a culture of teamwork, accountability and high standards.

You will work 35 hours per week and the company can have a degree of flexibility around the core hours of 06.30-16.00, Monday-Friday

About You

• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
• A proactive, results-driven approach, with a strong commitment to quality, safety and teamwork.
• 5 years plus of senior leadership role with a manufacturing environment
• Previous employment within a lean manufacturing organisation and implementing lean processes successfully is essential Desirable: Engineering or industrial manufacturing experience, a management or Lean qualification, Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH), and experience using ERP or production management systems.
