Job summary

E3 Recruitment is assisting a leading UK manufacturer to recruit a Deputy Works Manager.

You will lead production teams, monitor productivity and quality, manage attendance and safety, coordinate labour, materials and equipment, and work with internal and external partners to meet delivery targets.

Salary up to £50,000 per annum plus a bonus scheme and a 12% pension, plus 33 days annual leave, life insurance and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Deputy Works Manager or similar within a Manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to production teams, ensuring targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor productivity, workflow and resource utilisation, identifying improvements to maximise operational efficiency.
• Take ownership of attendance, performance and conduct matters, addressing issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure health, safety and compliance standards are consistently followed, promoting a strong safety‑first culture.
• Coordinate labour, materials and equipment to support smooth production operations and minimise downtime.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments, suppliers and subcontract partners to maintain delivery performance and quality expectations.
• Produce clear operational reports, highlighting risks, challenges and resource requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Works Manager will include:
