We are looking for a Deputy Cancer Clinical Trials Operations Manager to join our team.

The Imperial Clinical Trials Unit-Cancer (ICTU-Ca), led by Professor Michael Seckl, provides a core accredited environment to develop and conduct world-class cancer clinical trials in collaboration with Imperial College. The unit focuses on precision medicine and proof-of-concept clinical trials, currently undertaking studies from phase Ib to phase III across multiple disease sites at both national and international levels. The cancer trial portfolio includes innovative imaging modalities, translational research initiatives, and evolving study designs.

ICTU-Ca is part of the broader Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU), which covers various therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, metabolic diseases, respiratory, HIV/infectious diseases, surgery, and emergency and critical care. These disciplines operate under the UKCRC-registered ICTU.

  1. A well-organized, proactive individual is required to oversee several national and international multi-centred randomized clinical trials and manage the associated study staff.
  2. This role involves overseeing all aspects of trial management, implementing systems to ensure trials meet high scientific and regulatory standards, and coordinating individual studies as needed.
  3. The post holder will also contribute to the expansion of the unit by supporting new grant applications and initiatives within ICTU-Ca and the Department of Surgery and Cancer.
  4. Applicants must have proven experience in coordinating multicentre CTIMPs and managing translational research, preferably within an NHS or academic environment.
  5. A degree or equivalent in biomedical, scientific, statistical, or related fields, or equivalent experience, is essential.
  6. Experience in cancer research and grant development is desirable.
  7. Strong leadership and motivational skills are required, with the ability to work independently.
  8. Organizational skills and effective teamwork abilities are essential.
  9. Willingness to travel and flexible working hours are expected.
  10. Full details of essential and desirable criteria are provided in the job description.
