Job summary

SuperCare Residential in East London is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to lead a Children's Residential Home. You will work with the Registered Manager to oversee daily operations, safeguarding, and high-quality trauma-informed care for young people.

You will supervise staff, manage safeguarding and regulatory compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, staff development, and strong partnership with external professionals.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
• Experience working within a Children\'s Residential Home.
• Team Leader or above in a Children\'s Residential Home.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations and Children\'s Homes Regulations 2015.
• Experience in supervising and supporting staff teams.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
• A proactive, hands on approach to leadership and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day to day operations with the Registered Manager.
• Deputise in absence and manage running of the service.
• Support and supervise staff to ensure they meet the needs of young people and maintain high standards of care.
• Safeguard welfare of all young people in line with safeguarding procedures and regulations.
• Direct work with young people and build positive relationships and support their development.
• Lead on managing child protection concerns, incidents, and complaints in line with policy and legislation.
• Support the implementation of the home\'s Statement of Purpose and ensure objectives are achieved.
• Work in partnership with external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
• Ensure accurate record keeping, including care plans, risk assessments, and financial records.
• Contribute to audits, quality assurance processes and continuous improvement within the service.
• Support rota planning, staffing levels and resource allocation to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
