Job summary

Sense is seeking a Deputy Manager for our Dunmurry service to lead a team supporting people with learning disabilities and sensory impairments. You will work alongside the Registered Manager, coaching staff and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, with a focus on safeguarding and wellbeing.

The role is permanent, 36 hours per week, with shifts 9am–5pm Mon–Thu and 9am–3:30pm Fri; weekend work once a month after settling in. Driving licence required, NVQ Level 3/5 desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising care teams or services.
• Experience in health and social care environments.
• Ability to coach, mentor and supervise staff.
• Strong communication and organisation skills.
• Confident with IT and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Manager in daily service operations.
• Supervise, coach and mentor the support team; conduct inductions and team meetings.
• Plan and manage staff rotas; cover shifts as needed.
• Support people daily with independence and wellbeing.
• Monitor performance and contribute to staff development.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure policy and compliance.
• Oversee health and safety and safeguarding of people supported.
