Job summary

Jobtrain is hiring a Deputy Service Manager in Longhope, Forest of Dean. The role involves leading a team to help people gain independence, developing care plans, and supporting day-to-day service operations.

Shifts follow a rota: 2 x 9am-4pm and 2 x 8am-8pm, with on-call cover and manager support as needed. The successful candidate will have prior care management experience and a Level 3 Health & Social Care or be working towards it, with a focus on individuals with autism and mental health

Qualifications

• Experience in care management and leading teams.

• Experience with individuals with autism, complex mental health needs or challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to help people gain more independence.
• Develop and implement person-centred support plans and conduct needs assessments.
• Recruit and induct new colleagues, conduct supervisions and appraisals.
• Complete medication competencies and audits; attend multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Assist the Registered Manager in day-to-day service management and cover for the manager as needed.
• Participate in on-call rota, primarily every other weekend.

Pay rate starts at £33,111k

Contract 37.5hrs

Shifts are on a Rota bases : 2 x 9am - 16:00 2 days x 8am - 20:00 (Rota is always made 4/6 weeks in advance) This is subject to change as and when the service requires, which could require last minute shift covers.

Our Deputy Service Managers will be responsible for managing a team of colleagues with the purpose of helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives. You could be developing and implementing person centred support plans, conducting care needs assessments, recruiting and inducting new colleagues, completing supervisions/appraisals, completing medication competencies and medication audits, attending mutli-disciplinary meetings, completing reports and generally assisting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of our service and covering for the manager due to her being a dual manager. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Deputy Service Managers play a central role in team leadership and have a hands‑on approach to care management.

You will also take part in the on‑call rota this would be predominantly every other weekend a month, additionally to cover manager absence.

This is why at this service our Deputy Service Manager should have previous experience in a care management role and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care or willing to work towards it as well as experience working with individuals with autism, complex individuals with mental health needs, traumatic backgrounds and challenging behaviours.
