Job summary

Maritime and Coastguard Agency is seeking a Deputy Management Accountant to join the Management Accounting team within Strategic Finance. You will oversee month-end and year-end processes, support ad hoc financial tasks, and collaborate with Finance Business Partners to deliver timely, accurate financial information.

Qualifications

Experience managing month-end and year-end processes.
Experience delivering high-quality monthly finance reports.
Ability to analyse financial and non-financial data to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

Responsible for month end and year end processes and reporting, in line with timetables.
Prepare and post journals, review accruals and prepayments, and support forecast variance explanations.
Ensure integrity of transactions in financial systems with strong controls.
Analyse financial and non-financial data to identify trends and correlations affecting MCA decisions.
Support Finance Business Partners by explaining budget variances and risks to senior managers.
Produce high-quality monthly finance reports and management information for senior leaders.
