DEPUTY MAINTENANCE MANAGER

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Maintenance Manager to join our Maintenance team. You will be supporting the Maintenance Manager in leading the Maintenance department. You will be responsible for managing repairs, installations of and upkeep of hotel facilities. Your duties will include maintaining equipment, planning repair activities, developing maintenance procedures and leading the team in day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities
- Effectively prioritise maintenance issues during each shift, ensuring timely resolution by assigning tasks to team members with the appropriate skill sets, while overseeing the planning and execution of all related works to maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring all preventative maintenance tasks are completed as required, rescheduling any missed activities, and leading the team to deliver maintenance operations effectively and efficiently.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, plan and coordinate repair activities, and develop both maintenance procedures and the skills of the team.
- Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Identify operational limitations and propose improvements to enhance performance, processes, and efficiency.
- Lead the Hotel Maintenance team in delivering a comprehensive, multi-skilled maintenance service, both reactive and proactive, across all operational equipment and facilities to ensure seamless functionality.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing Maintenance team to achieve set objectives, deliver best practice results, drive added value, and foster continuous improvements.
- Consistently uphold and promote high standards through personal example, ensuring that these expectations are clearly communicated and understood by each team member.
- Foster clear and effective communication with all departments, customers, suppliers, and service providers, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
- Take on additional tasks or responsibilities outside of regular daily or weekly duties, including covering Duty Engineer shifts during absences or holiday periods, as directed by your Line Manager, while ensuring consistency with the overall scope of the role.
- Included in the Out of Hours On-Call duty on a rota basis shared between the Maintenance Manager.

Candidate requirements
Essential:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role in a hotel environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrate multi-skilled abilities, with proven expertise in at least one of the following trades: Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, or Plastering
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in a luxury hotel environment
- Knowledge of plumbing systems
