Job Title: Deputy Headteacher (Quality of Education)
Location: Norton College, Tewkesbury, GL20 8UQ
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8.30am-4.00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term time only
We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher to join our team at Norton College in Tewkesbury.
About the role
The post holder will support the Headteacher with the leadership and management of the school to promote effective education and care, contributing to the learning, personal development, and well-being of all students. You will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), discharging responsibilities to a high standard and supporting the team at all times.
Working closely with the Headteacher, SLT, and colleagues to ensure compliance with statutory regulations. You will plan, implement, review, and develop the whole school curriculum to meet individual learning needs, reflect national standards and legal requirements, and promote participation through achievement and progression. You will also contribute to continuous improvement through annual planning, setting clear objectives and targets, and developing a quality improvement plan based on self-evaluation and benchmarks.
Appoint, develop, and organize teaching and support staff to ensure effective curriculum delivery, pupil support, and high professional standards. Liaise with Departmental Heads to ensure the integration of the school program with other learning and support services, including Care and Therapeutic provisions.
