We are looking for a Headteacher for our New Acorn Education School - Bluewaters School in Coventry, Warwickshire. The school will have capacity for 60 pupils ages 11-16 years old and is due to open May 2026. We are recruiting for a Headteacher to help set up and grow our new school.

The school will be a co-educational provision for pupils with complex needs including SEMH.

• Up to £85,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Through your knowledge and passion, you will have a real impact on the lives of pupils and young people. As Headteacher, you will provide effective leadership and management of the school, ensuring it meets its aims and operates within the overall strategy and guidelines of Acorn Education.

About The Role

As a Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on high-quality, creative learning, delivering our pupils' educational needs, maximising achievement, and their ability to develop.

You will have support from central services for Finance, Resourcing, HR, and IT, including a network of supportive Headteachers from other schools and central school improvement support.

Key objectives of the role:

• Achieve outstanding outcomes for Pupils and Young People that reflect their needs, abilities, and aptitudes.
• Ensure a safe environment that protects the welfare of Pupils, Young People, and staff.
• Meet all statutory requirements as defined by the DfE, Ofsted, and other external bodies, aiming for the highest inspection ratings.
• Motivate staff to achieve excellence and engage in personal and professional development.
• Ensure the commercial success of the school through occupancy, cost management, and growth plans.
• Implement effective strategic and operational planning, including self-evaluation and school improvement.
• Foster a shared vision within the Acorn Group strategy that inspires and motivates the school community.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• At least three years’ experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.
• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
• Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development.
• Ability to lead with a clear vision.
• Understanding of leadership and management processes that impact pupil outcomes, staff motivation, safety, costs, regulatory compliance, and growth.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Completion of NPQH.
• Experience with performance management, staff recruitment, and induction.
• Experience planning curricula across various ages and abilities.
