Job summary

Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting a Transport Team Leader to join a busy distribution operation on a temporary, ongoing basis. You will lead and motivate a team of drivers, coordinate daily operations and ensure safe, efficient deliveries in line with customer requirements.

Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will drive continuous improvement, manage costs and ensure compliance with tachographs, drivers’ hours and the Working Time Directive.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport or distribution operations.
• HGV1 licence desirable.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of transport legislation including tachographs and Working Time Directive.
• Proactive approach to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the driver team to achieve targets and maintain high standards.
• Oversee daily transport operations, ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time.
• Create and maintain the current and following week's traffic plan.
• Ensure drivers comply with health and safety legislation and site procedures.
• Manage tachograph regulation adherence and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Maximise fleet availability and control operational costs.
• Liaise with Customer Services to meet service standards.
• Complete transport administration within deadlines.
