Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Transport Team Manager for the West Thurrock depot. You will lead a team of drivers, ensuring on-time, safe deliveries and compliance with tachographs and regulations. The role is night shift, 10pm–6am, with a 25% premium and full-time hours.

You will coach, motivate and develop your team, drive performance, and collaborate with internal and external partners to meet targets. The role requires strong leadership, planning, and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a drivers team.
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance and regulations.
• Proven ability to meet critical performance measures.
• Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
• Clear, confident communication and problem solving.
• Proficient IT skills for operations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of drivers to ensure on-time, safe deliveries.
• Work towards critical transport performance measures.
• Mentor and develop team to maintain high performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and address underperformance.
• Manage sickness and absence to maintain staffing levels.
• Log and review driver infringements and compliance logs.
• Oversee driver tachographs and related records.
• Build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
