Job summary

Bis Henderson is recruiting an experienced Transport Manager to lead the transport operation at a busy Luton depot. The role is an early shift from 5.00am, Monday to Friday, with ownership of daily transport activity and driver management.

You will oversee fleet compliance, service performance, and safety standards while maintaining KPI-driven improvements and cost control. CPC qualification is essential, and the environment is fast-paced and hands-on.

Qualifications

• Hands-on transport professional with leadership capability.
• Strong compliance knowledge and depot operations experience.
• CPC qualification required for Transport Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily transport activity and driver management.
• Ensure vehicle roadworthiness, PMI schedules, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor drivers’ hours and tachograph activities per regulations.
• Maintain transport management system, run sheets, and reports.
• Brief and debrief crews; communicate performance updates across the business.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop transport colleagues; conduct reviews.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance, incidents, and depot costs.
