Job summary

First Bus, part of First Group, is seeking an Operations Supervisor for its Caledonia depot in Glasgow. This full-time, permanent role concentrates on on-the-day and future service planning, driver support, and maintaining high operational standards.

You will lead shifts, manage driver hours and attendance, and collaborate with depot engineering teams to keep performance on track. A strong customer focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Professional knowledge of road traffic acts and employment legislation.
• Ability to lead and inspire people to follow operational best practice.
• Knowledge of employment legislation.
• Excellent planning and prioritising.
• Self-motivated with a positive approach to change.
• Customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Forward planning on-the-day service requirements through to end-of-day and future days.
• Monitor and pro-actively manage service punctuality and availability.
• Support driver queries and oversee driver reporting.
• Ensure accurate capture of drivers' hours, duties and attendance.
• Maintain records for operational standards and performance.
• Analyse information to improve service performance.
• Ensure drivers are allocated correct vehicles and depart on time.
• Handle customer queries and ensure resolution.
• Coordinate hand-overs across shifts.
• Manage cash collection from depots.
