Job summary

Biffa Group in Wokingham is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for the Wokingham Depot to lead supervisors and their teams. You will ensure safe, reliable and efficient delivery of recycling and waste collections and street cleansing services, while maintaining high customer service levels.

Reporting to the Senior Business Manager, you will drive KPI performance, manage budgets and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, company policies and statutory legislation across the

Qualifications

• Leadership of staff and supervisors in a unionised environment.
• Proven track record delivering service delivery KPIs.
• Experience with vehicle management and depot operations.
• Ability to deliver continuous improvement within operational/service environment.
• Experience producing and analysing reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of environmental responsibilities and health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety and company policies are understood and followed by all staff.
• Develop and maintain relationships with client and stakeholders; attend meetings and ensure timely reporting.
• Achieve financial/budget targets for the contract including overtime, staffing and revenue.
• Support staff training and ensure up-to-date job descriptions and inductions.
• Supervise operations to meet contract standards; address performance and conduct issues per policy.
• Review waste collections and street cleansing to improve efficiency and financial performance.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and maintained properly with staff trained.
• Maintain records and systems for KPI reporting and information requests.
• Assist the company in achieving business objectives and compliant procedures.
