Job summary

Stonbury in Skelmersdale is seeking a proactive Depot Coordinator to join the Supply Chain team. The role runs Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm, with an indicative salary of around £31k depending on experience.

You will manage stock, equipment, small machinery, vehicles and facilities, collaborating with support services and project teams to ensure smooth operations. The successful candidate will coordinate fleet servicing, maintain equipment programmes, supervise stock checks and labelling, issue tools,

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate fleet servicing, roadworthiness and availability with the NFE Manager.
  • Proactively manage maintenance and inspection of equipment to keep it compliant.
  • Oversee goods in/out, stock rotation and accurate labelling.
  • Issue tools/equipment to teams and ensure return and upkeep.
  • Manage facilities needs and liaise with on-site contractors for timely work.
  • Undertake site deliveries as required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a valid driving licence.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and organised Depot Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team in Skelmersdale.

  • Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm
  • Circa £31k doe

We specialise in sustainable water asset management solutions, delivering exceptional value outcomes in potable water, wastewater and the environment.

Reporting to the National Fleet & Equipment Manager (NFE), you will be responsible for managing stock, equipment, small machinery, vehicles, and facilities, while also overseeing regional administration. You will collaborate effectively with support services, site teams, and project management.

  • Fleet Coordination In collaboration with the NFE Manager, ensure the servicing, roadworthiness, and availability of the local fleet.
  • Equipment Management Proactively manage the maintenance and inspection programme, ensuring all equipment is compliant and fit for purpose. Remove items from use when necessary.
  • Stock Management Oversee goods in/out and stock rotation. Conduct regular stock checks to ensure materials are correctly labelled and stored in compliance with regulations, reducing wastage.
  • Tool & Equipment Management Issue tools and equipment to teams, ensure they are returned, and oversee the maintenance of all machinery.
  • Facilities Management Oversee all building and facilities needs, acting as the main point of contact for on-site contractors to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Take a hands-on approach to minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing cables, installing signs, performing lubrication, and handling small mechanical repairs.
  • Site Deliveries Undertake site deliveries as required.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to manage and maintain small machinery and equipment (PAT testing experience is ideal).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
  • Commercial acumen to manage stock and reduce waste efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across various teams.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) to maintain records, prepare reports, and manage administrative tasks.
  • Hold a current driving licence, preferably with towing experience.
  • Circa £31k doe
