Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking a Depot Coordinator in Kidlington to manage real-time plant availability and direct delivery of equipment and parts to Field Teams. The role emphasizes safety, governance, and efficient plant usage within a busy depot environment.

You will ensure plants are hired and off-hired efficiently, maintain repairs per manufacturer guidelines, and provide proactive updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing budgets and monitoring spend.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of operational costs.
  • Valid UK driving licence is essential.
  • Experience in plant hire or operational environment is desirable.
  • Forklift licence/training is a plus and training can be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure plant and signage/barriers are received, secured, delivered and collected.
  • Monitor, report on damage and maintenance of plant and signage/barriers.
  • Provide real-time visibility of plant holdings via SAP or related systems.
  • Maintain audit and governance controls and processes.
  • Coordinate hire/off-hire of plants through in-house team or suppliers.
  • Manage plant damage procedures and repairs per manufacturer guidance.

We currently have a great opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our team at Kidlington as the Depot Coordinator.

You will be responsible for managing the real-time availability of mobile plants and the direct delivery of equipment and engineering parts to the Thames Water Field Teams, whilst maintaining Health & Safety, Environmental, Water Quality and Plant standards.

What you’ll be doing as the Depot Coordinator
  • Ensuring that all plant and signage/barriers are received, secured, delivered and collected in line with customer service levels.
  • Ensuring a robust process for monitoring, reporting, damage and maintenance of all plant and signage/barriers is in place.
  • Providing real-time visibility of plant and signage/barrier holdings through SAP or related systems.
  • Ensuring that controls and processes are in place and adhere to audit and governance protocols.
  • Ensuring that the plant is hired and off-hired through our in-house team and/or nominated supplier to drive real-time usage, efficiency and cost control.
  • Managing and coordinating plant damage procedures.
  • Ensuring that all plants are in good working order and that necessary repairs/services are carried out in line with the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Ensuring all discrepancies are investigated and addressed immediately with relevant stakeholders and internal specialists.

Base Location - Kidlington - OX5 1QT.

45 hours per week, Monday-Friday. 7:30 am – 5 pm.

What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
  • Demonstrable experience in managing budgets.
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and understanding.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience in a plant hire or operational environment is desirable
  • Operating either a counterbalance or telehandler forklift is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.

  • Salary up to £33,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
  • 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
  • If required, training and qualification for Forklift licences will be provided.
