Job summary

NHS England is seeking a Training Programme Director for Dental Core Training in Manchester. The post supports the Associate Dental Dean in strategic development and leads DCT education across OMFS units, contributing to the DERP objectives.

The role requires senior clinical experience, educational leadership, and involvement with national training standards. Secondments may be available; a strong focus on workforce planning and stakeholder engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• Senior clinician or consultant on the Dental Register.
• Membership or Fellowship of a Medical or Dental Royal College.
• Educational Qualification and experience in line with Dental Gold Guide/GDC Standards for Dental Educators.
• Formal educational qualification PGCert/FHEA accreditation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support the Dental Core Training Executive Committee and Associate Dental Dean in delivering high‑quality DCT programmes.
• Liaise with NHSE North West Office training programmes to develop and provide training opportunities.
• Provide expert advice on specialty matters to the Education Scheme.
• Ensure systems for Assessment, Rotational Management, Trainee Supervision & Support are in place.
• Promote and lead work programmes on behalf of the dept. and enable inter‑professional learning.
• Contribute to Workforce Planning and recruitment strategies.
