Job summary

NHS England is recruiting for an Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean for Foundation Training in the North West. The role leads educational leadership across Dental Foundation Training and related programmes, with involvement in regional strategy and NHS priorities.

The post holder will drive regional curriculum implementation, oversee pathways and collaborate with key partners to align with national reform and the Dental Gold Guide.

Qualifications

• Experience of and commitment to Dental Foundation Training.
• Primary focus on Dental Foundation Training and foundation-level education within the regional portfolio.
• Able to lead educational strategy within NHS settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the provision of Dental Foundation Training in the North West of England.
• Lead regional implementation and oversight of the Early Years Dental Training curriculum and portfolio requirements across multiple pathways.
• Provide senior oversight of JDFCT/Early Years pathways across practice settings ensuring coordination between Supervisors, Directors and NHS teams.
• Participate in strategic planning for Dental Foundation Training at national level.
• Support the development of specialised skills and wider educational opportunities relevant to Dental Foundation Training.
• Develop and evaluate a study programme mapped to the Early Years curriculum and aligned with the Dental Gold Guide.
• Lead the appointment process for Training Programme Directors and Educational Supervisors.
• Develop and maintain robust processes to ensure training practices meet required standards.
