Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Oxy Propane Scrap Burner for a long-term demolition project in Luton. The role requires working safely on a busy site and producing high‑quality scrap metal cuts with oxy‑propane equipment.

You will operate the oxy‑propane burner, follow site procedures and safety risk assessments, maintain equipment, and integrate with a wider site team. CSCS is required; NVQ welding or similar certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience cutting scrap metal with oxy-propane equipment.
• Valid oxy-propane burning certification or NVQ Welding qualification.
• Previous experience as a demolition or scrap burner.
• CSCS card required.

Responsibilities

• Cut and process scrap metal safely using oxy-propane equipment.
• Operate an oxy-propane burning gun in line with site procedures.
• Work safely within a demolition, scrap or recycling environment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Maintain equipment and report defects or safety concerns.
• Work effectively as part of a wider site team.

Luton | Up to £24 per hour DOE | Monday-Friday | 7.30am-6pm | 50 Hours per Week | Long-Term

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Oxy Propane Scrap Burner on a long-term demolition project in Luton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced scrap burner, demolition burner or oxy burner with the relevant qualifications and site experience to secure ongoing work with a respected contractor.

What We Offer

• Up to £24 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.
• Monday to Friday working pattern.
• 7.30am-6pm shifts.
• 50 hours paid per week.

• Previous experience within demolition, scrap or recycling environments.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent references available.
