Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling is seeking a skilled 360 Grab Driver / Machine Operator to support operations at our Bristol site. You will run plant machinery, depollute ELVs, and perform yard tasks with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has recycling/scrap experience and proven mechanical aptitude, including engine removal. You will work under pressure, communicate clearly with the team, and follow all site H&S procedures to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in recycling / scrap operations.
• 360 grab driver experience is essential.
• Experience removing engines.
• Ability to work under pressure and contribute to the team.
• Mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery including 360 scrap handler, loading shovel, skid steer, FLT, shredder plus.
• Undertake depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) – remove and store parts safely (training provided).
• Work on the picking line and general yard duties.
• Ensure safe loading of containers on site and safe movement of vehicles.
• Adhere to all H&S procedures across depots and report defects promptly.
• Keep yard clean and hazards-free; remove catalytic converters as needed.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required.

The role:

We are looking for an experienced 360 Grab Driver / Machine Operator to support the operations at our Bristol site.

What you will be doing:

• Operating plant machinery including 360 scrap handler, loading shovel, skid steer, FLT, shredder plus -
• Undertaking the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) – removing and storing parts safely (full training provided)
• Working on the picking line
• General yard work
• Responsible for ensuring the safe loading of containers on site
• Ensuring the safe movement and manoeuvring of vehicles on and off the container tilter loader
• Working closely with others, ensuring good communication and following instructions
• To work within and to adopt all H&S procedures that are in force at all the companies’ depots.
• To inform management immediately of any defects that may cause any item of equipment to be either unsafe or unroadworthy.
• To keep the yard clean and tidy and free from hazards
• Removing of catalytic convertors from vehicles
• Any other ad-hoc duties required

The ideal candidate:

• Recycling / scrap experience
• 360 grab driver experience is essential
• Experience of removing engines
• An ability to work under pressure, solve problems and provide a consistently positive contribution to the team
• Mechanical experience
• You will also: ensure high standards of delivery and customer service; be determined, resilient and flexible; demonstrate a positive attitude
