Job summary

Guild House in Gloucester is seeking a Dementia Wellbeing Assistant to support residents with dementia, deliver activities, and promote wellbeing. The role involves 30 hours per week with alternate weekend work, contributing to a warm and inclusive environment and maintaining activity records.

The role emphasises person-centred care, teamwork with care staff and volunteers, and delivering meaningful engagement for older residents.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with older people.
• Understanding of dementia and person-centred care.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working hours.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering a varied programme of one to one and group meaningful activities and events.
• Supporting residents living with dementia through meaningful occupation and social engagement.
• Organising reminiscence, music, crafts, exercise and community activities.
• Encouraging independence, choice and participation.
• Promote positive mental and emotional wellbeing.
• Working collaboratively with care staff, families and volunteers.
• Contributing to a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Maintain accurate records of participation and outcomes.
