Job summary

Gloucester Charities Trust's Guild House is seeking a Dementia Wellbeing Assistant to enhance residents' quality of life. You will plan meaningful activities, support dementia care, and foster independence and enjoyment for older people.

In this role, you’ll work 30 hours per week with weekend shifts; pay is £13.80 per hour plus £1.00 per hour weekend uplift. Benefits include pension, DBS, training and parking.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with older people
• Understanding of dementia and person-centred care
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach to working hours

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering a varied programme of one to one and group meaningful activities and events
• Supporting residents living with dementia through meaningful occupation and social engagement
• Organising reminiscence, music, crafts, exercise and community activities
• Encouraging independence, choice and participation
• Promote positive mental and emotional wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with care staff, families and volunteers
• Contributing to a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment
• Maintain accurate records of participation and outcomes
