Job summary

Glenholme Healthcare Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Well-being and Activities Coordinator to plan, coordinate and deliver a comprehensive wellbeing and activities programme in a care home. You will ensure residents access meaningful, person-centred activities that promote social engagement, physical and mental wellbeing.

The role reports to the Home Manager and requires a full UK driving license and eligibility; with a 40-hour week, alternating weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and delivering wellbeing and activity programmes for residents.
• Ability to tailor activities to individual needs and preferences.
• Knowledge of dementia care best practices and activity provision.
• Willingness to obtain preferred qualifications if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of a varied programme of activities and wellbeing initiatives tailored to residents.
• Coordinate and deliver group and one-to-one sessions, including creative arts, reminiscence therapy, music, games, gentle exercise and outings.
• Encourage resident engagement and promote independence, dignity and choice in wellbeing.
• Work with residents, families and care staff to understand life stories and develop personalised activity plans.
• Organise events, seasonal activities and special occasions within the home.
• Build relationships with external organisations and community groups to enhance the activities programme.
• Monitor and evaluate activity effectiveness and maintain documentation in line with requirements.
• Promote health and wellbeing through movement and exercise sessions and support staff in delivering safe activities.

About the Role

The Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of a comprehensive wellbeing and activities programme within the care home. The role ensures residents have access to meaningful, person-centred activities that promote social engagement, physical and mental wellbeing, and overall quality of life. The Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator, will act as the main point of contact for wellbeing provision within the home.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with residents, families, and care staff to understand individual life stories and develop personalised activity plans.
• Organise and celebrate events, seasonal activities, and special occasions within the home.
• Build positive relationships with external organisations, entertainers, and community groups to enhance the activities programme.
• Monitor, record, and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, maintaining accurate documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
• Promote health and wellbeing through movement and exercise sessions, where qualified, and support colleagues in delivering safe, enjoyable physical activity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• Creative, energetic, and person-centred approach to planning activities.
• NAPA Level 2 or 3, Award in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care, or willingness to work towards this
• Experience working in a care home or similar setting, supporting older people and/or those living with dementia.
• Level 2 Seated Dance & Exercise Leader (Activcare) or a recognised exercise-related qualification
• Experience supervising or coordinating a team
• Knowledge of dementia care best practices
• First aid training
