Job summary

John Lewis is hiring a Driver Technician Trainee in the United Kingdom. You will complete a 3-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Technician with a C1 driving licence. After training, you’ll join a 2-person delivery crew, delivering and installing products at customers’ homes, from wall TVs to large appliances.

Salary is up to £31,020 depending on experience. Full-time, 41 hours across Monday to Saturday 06:00–17:00, four days a week.

Qualifications

UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
Have great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
Good understanding of technology and an interest in installation.

Responsibilities

Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service.
Perform daily checks and assist in loading your vehicle with deliveries while collaborating with the warehouse team.
Show respect for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best solution for customers.
Install various products (e.g., wall-mount TVs, integrated appliances) and demonstrate how they work.
Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role at your best.
Adhere to driving regulations, including Working Time Directive for a safe working environment.
This role involves heavy lifting delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, and beds.
