Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated midwife to join the Delivery Suite Core Team at Conquest Hospital, Hastings. The role focuses on care for low and high risk women, with leadership responsibilities in maternity services.

You will need at least 3 years of midwifery experience, strong clinical and managerial skills, and a commitment to professional development and teaching junior staff. A permanent, full-time contract is offered.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife on the NMC register.
• Diploma/degree level qualification.
• LEAP or equivalent management training.
• D32/33 – Formerly ENB997/998 or equivalent.
• Portfolio of evidence of recent professional development.
• Advanced midwifery practice.
• ECDL or IT qualification.
• Conflict resolution training.
• Child protection training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical area including labour ward and obstetric theatre.
• Monitor workload and staff deployment.
• Maintain high clinical competencies as a role model.
• Create a learning environment and teach junior staff.
• Undertake line management and on-call responsibilities as senior maternity manager.
• Participate in audits of learning areas.
