Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS Group, is hiring a two-person delivery driver in Doncaster. You will complete 10–15 deliveries daily, install furniture in customers' homes, and operate in a 7am–7pm shift with a 4-on, 4-off pattern. A strong emphasis on safety and customer care is required.

You will hold a 7.5T licence with Digi Tacho and CPC, a full licence for 12+ months with under 6 points, and be comfortable heavy lifting. Competitive pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid 7.5T licence or equivalent, with Digi Tacho and CPC where applicable.
• Full driving licence held for at least 12 months with fewer than 6 points.
• Able to lift heavy furniture and install it in customers' homes.
• Good time management and strong people skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe, professional manner.
• Communicate with customers beforehand to confirm delivery timing.
• Deliver to the room requested and remove any rubbish from the premises.
• Work as part of a two-person team and install furniture in customers’ homes.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects to management.
• Comply with driving laws and company policies at all times.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2‑person delivery team, completing 10–15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if…

• You hold a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up to date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence
• You’ve held a valid driver’s licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You’re ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team.
• You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• You’ve got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
• You take pride in your work and value safety – of yourself and those around you.
