Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company is seeking a Delivery & Installation Driver 7.5T to join a dedicated two-person team. You will perform 10–15 deliveries daily, install furniture in customers' homes, and follow safety protocols.

The role offers a stable 7am–7pm schedule on a 4-on, 4-off cycle with guaranteed hours and competitive pay. Benefits include a £1,000 sign-on bonus, up to £2,000 yearly bonus, and staff discounts on DFS and Sofology products.

Qualifications

• 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up-to-date Digi Tacho, CPC Card, and valid manual driving licence.
• 12 months' driving experience with a clean licence.
• Ability to work as part of a two-person team and install heavy furniture.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers' homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate with customers prior to delivery to confirm arrival time and address.
• Ensure furniture is placed in the requested room and remove rubbish.
• Work with team and managers to improve service standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.

Job Responsibilities

You will work as part of a skilled 2-person delivery team, completing 10-15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers' homes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you'll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers homes in a safe and professional manner.


• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you're on your way to their address.


• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.


• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.


• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.


• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.


• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if...

• You hold a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up-to-date Digi Tacho, CPC Card, and valid manual driving licence.


• You've held a valid drivers licence for 12 months with less than 6 points.


• You're ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team.


• You're great with people and enjoy helping customers.


• You're comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.


• You've got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.


• You take pride in your work and value the safety of yourself and those around you.
