Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS group, is hiring for a two-person delivery role in Greater Manchester. You will complete 10-15 deliveries daily, install furniture in customers' homes, and work in a physically demanding role with lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs.

We offer a competitive salary of £32,723 per annum plus an annual bonus up to £2,000, a £1,000 sign-on bonus, and a predictable 4-on 4-off schedule from 7am to 7pm.

Qualifications

• Valid 7.5T licence/ROI equivalent and up-to-date Digi Tacho.
• CPC Card and a clean driving licence, 12 months driving with <6 points.
• Willingness to work in a two-person delivery team with physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries in customers' homes in a safe, professional manner.
• Communicate with customers prior to delivery to confirm timing.
• Ensure correct room delivery and dispose of no rubbish for customers.
• Maintain vehicle inspections and report defects immediately.
• Adhere to driving laws and company policies.

You'll work as part of a skilled 2-person delivery team, completing 10-15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers' homes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you'll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers' homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you're on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if...

• You hold a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up to date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence
• You've held a valid driver's licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You're ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team.
• You're great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You're comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• You've got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
• You take pride in your work and value safety - of yourself and those around you.
