NW Recruitment Services Ltd. are supporting Royal Mail and recruiting for a Postal Collection & Delivery Worker (with driving).

The role involves delivering and collecting mail and parcels in a set area, starting from the local delivery office and using a handheld device to capture signatures. The job combines driving and walking and may include Sundays; training will cover vehicle checks and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting mail and parcels to houses and businesses within a set area. You’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your local community, and work flexible hours to deliver the outstanding levels of service our customers have come to expect.
• You’ll start your day in the local delivery office, sorting the mail for your route.
• You will then need to complete the necessary checks on your vehicle, guidance on how to complete these checks will be covered during your initial training, before joining a colleague in a shared van to start your round.
• You’ll each be given a hand-held computer device to capture customer signatures for deliveries and the round will take around four hours to complete.
• The role will involve a combination of driving and walking, depending on daily requirements, route allocations and vehicle availability.
• Candidates must be comfortable undertaking both, as some days may involve driving to a designated location, completing the remainder of the route on foot, and driving back at the end of the day.
• We use a variety of equipment to convey the mail this includes the use of light weight and high capacity trollies which are supplied to carry your mail as you walk on foot between delivery points. You will move to new delivery areas throughout the day, driving your vehicle in a responsible manner and parking safely at all times before returning back to the delivery office.
