Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting a Postal Collection & Delivery Worker with driving responsibilities. You will deliver and collect mail and parcels, starting from a local office and using a handheld device for signatures on a route that blends walking and driving.

The role is temporary, 30 hours per week across five days including Sundays, with training provided. A full UK manual driving licence (up to 6 points) is essential; customer-facing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Delivering and collecting mail and parcels to houses and businesses, as part of a Royal Mail route.
• Customer-facing experience is helpful for daily interactions with the public.
• Willing to work five days a week, including Sundays, for a 30-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting mail and parcels to houses and businesses within a set area.
• Start the day sorting mail at the local delivery office for the route.
• Check the vehicle before joining a colleague in a shared van to start the round.
• Use a hand-held computer device to capture customer signatures during deliveries.
• Work a mix of driving and walking, depending on daily requirements and vehicle availability.
• Move to new delivery areas and drive safely, parking at the delivery office as required.
