Job summary

Horwich Farrelly in Scotland is seeking a Litigation Solicitor to join the Defender Insurance Team on a hybrid basis (Glasgow/Edinburgh). The role is permanent and involves handling defender matters for major insurers with scope to progress within a high-performing firm.

You’ll manage a varied caseload, review evidence, draft pleadings and correspondence, and develop advocacy skills through training to present cases in court. The team prides itself on collaboration and impact.

Qualifications

• Experience handling pre-litigated and litigated defender matters.
• High-volume workload with end-to-end caseload management.
• Knowledge of personal injury claims and procedures.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload for major insurers and their clients.
• Support Partners by reviewing evidence, drafting pleadings and correspondence.
• Develop advocacy skills through internal and external training to present cases.
• Contribute to cross-border matters and jurisdiction/choice of law issues.
