Weightmans’ Defender Insurance team in Glasgow seeks a Solicitor 4YRS PQE to manage a varied caseload of EL/PL claims, Motor, and Disease, with exposure to regulatory and indemnity matters. You will liaise with clients, opponents and courts, and may supervise junior lawyers.

The role offers opportunities for development within a national practice and to contribute to high-value, complex claims while adhering to deadlines and KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Experience defending EL/PL casualty claims is essential.
• Desirable: motor/fraud/disease claim experience.
• Excellent knowledge of Court of Session and Sheriff Court procedures.
• Experience handling own caseload.
• Strong influencing, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets.
• Flexible with travel and able to work in a team or alone.
• Willingness to supervise junior fee earners.

Responsabilités

• Handle predominantly PI cases including EL, PL and Disease and Motor.
• Work as part of a team to provide legal advice and representation to clients.
• Assist Partners with cases, client development, training, networking and potentially public speaking.
