Job summary

Babcock International is seeking an experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join our defence-focused team at the Donnington site. With a 37-hour week and a 9 day fortnight (every other Friday off), you’ll have flexible onsite work, supplied tools and equipment, and genuine opportunities for overtime and career development.

You’ll diagnose, service and repair military and civilian vehicles, perform fault finding across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, and help keep critical defence

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology.
• BTEC Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology.
• Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic qualification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain military and civilian vehicles.
• Conduct inspections and assess vehicle condition and performance.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding activities.
• Complete testing, road testing and vehicle certification documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
• Support modification, upgrade and refurbishment programmes.
• Contribute to maintaining fleet availability for critical defence operations.
