Job summary

Babcock is seeking an experienced Vehicle Mechanic for an on-site role at Donnington. You will diagnose, service and repair a range of military and civilian vehicles, performing inspections, fault-finding and documentation to ensure compliance with standards.

The role offers a 37-hour week, 9 day fortnight, full tool provision, on-site gym access, and potential overtime, with a pathway for career development within the defence and engineering sectors.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology
• BTEC Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology
• Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic qualification

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain military and civilian vehicles
• Conduct inspections and assess vehicle condition and performance
• Carry out mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding activities
• Complete testing, road testing and vehicle certification documentation
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards
• Support modification, upgrade and refurbishment programmes
• Contribute to maintaining fleet availability for critical defence operations
