Job summary

Join Babcock as a Vehicle Mechanic for a 37-hour week on a 9 day fortnight, based onsite at Donnington. You will diagnose, service and repair military and civilian vehicles, with full tooling and equipment provided and opportunities for overtime.

Experience across light vehicles to military platforms is valued. The role supports national security and public infrastructure, offering clear career progression and long-term development within a global defence-focused organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology.
• BTEC Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology.
• Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic qualification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain military and civilian vehicles.
• Conduct inspections and assess vehicle condition and performance.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding activities.
• Complete testing, road testing and vehicle certification documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
• Support modification, upgrade and refurbishment programmes.
• Contribute to maintaining fleet availability for critical defence operations.
