Job summary

Babcock is hiring a Vehicle Mechanic to service and repair a wide range of military and civilian vehicles across UK sites. You will diagnose faults, perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic work, complete inspections and certifications, and maintain rigorous safety standards.

With strong training, career progression and a supportive environment, you’ll work 37 hours per week with onsite facilities and full tooling provided. Security clearance is a requirement for this role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair required.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology required.
• BTEC Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology required.
• Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic qualification required.
• Experience diagnosing, inspecting and assessing vehicle faults.
• Ability to complete vehicle documentation and test certification accurately.
• Experience gained in dealerships, commercial vehicle workshops, local garages, fleet maintenance or Armed Forces engineering is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain military and civilian vehicles.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding activities.
• Conduct inspections and assess vehicle condition and performance.
• Complete testing, road testing and vehicle certification documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
