Job summary

Mott MacDonald are seeking a Defence Security Controller to lead security oversight for major Defence projects in the Preston area, ensuring protection of classified and regulated assets while complying with UK Government and MOD requirements. The post holder will also support growth, contract delivery, and regulatory compliance across Defence portfolios.

Qualifications

Membership of the Security Institute (ASyI, MSyI or FSyI) is essential.
Experience in Defence, uniformed services, or custodial environments preferred.
Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
Proven experience conducting security audits.
High level IT literacy with report writing and auditing skills.

Responsibilities

Act as Project Security Controller for major MM Defence programmes and provide security assurance across the project lifecycle.
Interpret and monitor security controls to protect HMG-classified assets per contractual and policy requirements.
Ensure compliance with GovS 007, SPF requirements and MOD JSPs.
Provide security advice to sponsors and project managers, including at kick‑off meetings.
Maintain Security Management Plans and Project Security Strategies.
