Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Security Architect to design and maintain robust security architectures for ICT capabilities on UK Defence projects. You will translate business needs into security requirements and lead threat analysis, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.

Work involves evaluating security technologies, aligning architecture with client strategy, and producing clear technical documentation for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at senior levels.
• Strong analytical skills to break down complex security challenges.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• 5 years’ experience as a Security Architect within UK Defence.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and best practices.
• Experience with MOD security standards (JSP440, JSP453) and frameworks (NIST, ISO27001).
• Certs such as CISSP/CISM/CCP desirable.

Responsibilities

• Designing Security Architecture for ICT capabilities and security framework.
• Align security architectures with client business strategy and goals.
• Identify, assess, and communicate threats and vulnerabilities (ITHC).
• Research and evaluate security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, EDR, SIEM, SOAR).
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards and procedures (GDPR, HIPAA).
• Develop incident response plans and coordinate response to incidents.
• Communicate risks and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
